A long time sideman, Tchiya has played with many bands, including Joanna Marie, Isaac Haile Selassie, Karison, World Tribe, the Presidents, One Nation, starting with Irie Jane. Late 90’s, her first band: Dogon Sirius; Y2K: Tchiya Amet & the Light House Band toured with the Spirit of Bob Marley Festival Tour. 2001 they traveled to both coasts: Spring 2001 to St. Petersburg, FL for the Seminole Tribe “Discover Native America Pow Wow”. Summer found them out West at Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, Roots Mountain Fest in Tonasket, WA and Reggae on the River. Other festivals & cultural events include:, the Austin I.S.D. Pow Wow, Houston Women’s Festival, Austin Jazz Festival, World One Day in El Cerrito, CA.Alamo Community Garden Festival, and Healing Bloody Island Concert at Robinson Rancheria (Pomo Indian Rez).
Fall of 2002 Tchiya Amet & the Light House Band had the opportunity to perform at Monterey Bay Reggae Fest, One Root Festival, and San Francisco Reggae in the Park.
Since then Reggae on the River, California Indian Days and Earth Day at Hidden Oaks, at the Round Valley Indian Reservation, Native American Contemporary Arts Festival, End the Silence End the Violence: Tchiya Amet Day 2014, Austin, Tx, Chicago hard Rock Cafe, and so many more.
Recently, in 2017, Tchiya has performed with the Kasha Rootz Band in Jamaica,
Tchiya began homeschooling her daughters as soon as they were born. Wanting to create a better world for the girls, Tchiya got involved with music, festival production, organic food co-op management, and host of other activities.
