Shed No Blood

Galieliga Tsalagi Elo (Giving Thanks for the Cherokee Teachings): Excerpts from Voices of Our Ancestors, page 21.

“THE PRIESTCRAFT: From the beginning the Tsalagi have always had a priestcraft tradition. The primary duty of the priests, both men and woman, is to maintain the thought form of harmony and balance for all things, even for the rocks and trees, everything that shares this dream with us.

Such a person does not shed blood or cultivate thoughts of an angry nature. Traditionally, many of the priests and priestesses lived in what are called White Villages or Peace Villages, places where the hands were always clean of blood. This concept of sanctuary is very significant in our time, for to rekindle and understand the energy of sanctuary is to know forgiveness in oneself.

In the days before the hoop of the nation was broken, there was no need for prisons or mental hospitals because the sacred precepts and the care of the extended family and nation maintained harmony in the lives of the people.”

When one eats a dead animal, the toxins that accumulated at the time of death are also digested by the eater. These toxins in turn have an effect on one’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual nature. THAT’S A NATURAL FACT.

SHED NO BLOOD

I want you to, shed no blood.
I’m asking you, shed no blood.
I want you to, shed no blood.
I’m begging you, shed no blood.

Keep no thoughts of angry nature
in this Peace Village (this place is a sanctuary).
True Culture maintains the harmony
in the lives of it’s people, Shed no blood.

I want you to, shed no blood.
I’m telling you, shed no blood.
I’m begging you, shed no blood.
I’m warning you, shed no blood.

The taking of innocent creatures lives,
Jah sends creatures after you.
The taking of innocent creatures
lives for food,
Jah sends creatures after you, even for food.
Take a look at the animal world.
Take a look at the world of humans, too.
Animals taking innocent animals lives for food.
Jah sends humans after you, sometimes for food.
Humans, taking innocent animals lives for food,
Jah sends aliens after you, sometimes for food.

(repeat verse)

I want you to shed no blood.
I’m asking you, taste no blood.
I’m begging you, spill no blood.
I’m warning you, crave no blood.
I’m telling you, drink no blood.
I’m daring you, eat no blood.
I want you to shed no blood.
I’m asking you shed no blood
